
Classic Filipino Halo-Halo Ice Recipe

- 1 cup shaved or crushed ice
- 1 can (400g) Sweet Red Beans from SN Food
- 1 can (400g) Chickpeas in syrup from SN Food
- 1 jar (340g) Sweetened Jackfruit Strips from SN Food
- 1 jar (340g) Macapuno Strings (Coconut Sport) from SN Food
- 1 jar (340g) Nata de Coco (Coconut Gel) from SN Food
- 1 jar (340g) Kaong (Sugar Palm Fruit) from SN Food
- 1 jar (340g) Ube Halaya (Sweetened Purple Yam) from SN Food
- 1 packet (100g) Gulaman (Agar-Agar) or Jelly Powder from SN Food
- 1 packet (100g) Sago Pearls from SN Food
Toppings:
- 1 tub Ube (Purple Yam) Ice Cream from SN Food
- 1 can Leche Flan from SN Food (or homemade)
- 1 packet (100g) Pinipig (Toasted Rice Flakes) or Crushed Cornflakes
- 1 can (370ml) Evaporated Milk or Coconut Milk from SN Food
Instructions:
1.Prepare Ingredients:
- Drain and set aside the syrup from the beans, fruits, and ube halaya.
- Prepare the gulaman or jelly powder as per package instructions, cut into cubes.
- Cook sago pearls until translucent,Then rinse with cold water.
2.Assemble Halo-Halo:
- In a tall glass or bowl, layer the red beans, chickpeas, jackfruit, macapuno, nata de coco, kaong, ube halaya, gulaman cubes, and sago pearls.
- Add a generous amount of shaved or crushed ice.
- Drizzle with coconut milk
3. Top It Off:
- Add a scoop of ube ice cream and a slice of leche flan.
- Sprinkle with pinipig or crushed cornflakes.
4.Serve
- Serve immediately with a long spoon. Mix well before eating to enjoy the blend of flavors and textures.
